What People Have to Say About the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

On October 15, 2024, Victoria's Secret held its first fashion show since 2018, and people had quite a bit of negative things to say about it between the models, outfits, and the show altogether. This piqued my interest because Victoria's Secret is always caught in controversy, so I was curious what people were saying about the first fashion show in six years because a lot has changed since then regarding body positivity.  Victoria's Secret is a lingerie brand that has been providing women with sexy underwear, bras, and pajamas in retail since 1977. The founder, Roy Raymond, started Victoria's Secret because he was embarrassed to buy his wife lingerie in a normal department store. This subject piqued my interest because it is related to many popular things, including football, food, and celebrities. The NFL football season is in full swing and is a hot topic. I am a true Pacific Northwest child. I grew up with camping trips being family vacations and hikes being the go-to weekend activity. As I got older, I discovered skiing, dirtbikes, driving up dirt roads in the forest, backpacking, alpine lakes, fishing... you get the gist. I feel most like myself when I am in nature. I have never been the kind of girl who is scared to get dirty. However, I am the kind of girl who loves to try new things, travel to new places, and meet new people. I am always down for a new adventure because it may be the best one yet. If I had to choose a favorite thing about myself, it would be my optimism. The fact that I can think with an open mind and a kind heart in almost every situation is admirable.  I am excited to use my optimism and bubbly personality in this Principals of Marketing course.
